Hitchin MP Alistair Strathern Gets a Firsthand Look at GRIT

At GRIT Charity, we’re proud to see local leaders recognising the incredible impact of our programs. Recently, Hitchin’s MP, Alistair Strathern, visited one of our boxing sessions and experienced firsthand how our approach helps young people develop vital life skills such as resilience, focus, and confidence.
During his visit, Mr. Strathern stepped into the ring alongside our talented young participants, witnessing how structured boxing training can be a powerful tool for mental and emotional growth. Our program, which we’ve been delivering for over seven years, goes beyond physical fitness – it’s about empowering young people to manage emotions, build self-esteem, and succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
The MP praised the transformative nature of grassroots initiatives like ours and expressed support for making grit-focused education a national priority. His visit underscores the importance of preventative, community-based programs in helping young people thrive in challenging times.
We believe that resilience is key to shaping a brighter future for our youth, and we’re excited to be part of that journey. To learn more about how GRIT is making a difference, and the broader movement towards grit-focused education, we encourage you to read the full article here:
