Refer a Young Person to GRIT

Professionals can refer individual young people aged 11–24 into our service for tailored 1:1 coaching or the GRIT Programme. Our flexible, early-intervention support helps young people build confidence, improve wellbeing, and re-engage with life when other services may be at capacity.

We partner with schools, colleges, and alternative provision settings to deliver in-house support throughout the academic year. From regular 1:1 coaching to group workshops, we offer consistent, high-quality input that integrates with your pastoral and wellbeing provision.

By collaborating with schools, colleges, universities and alternative education services, we aim to empower young people to navigate life’s pressures and achieve personal and academic success, unlocking their full potential for lasting wellbeing.

Delivered in your setting throughout the academic year to ensure consistency and long-term support, our 1:1 coaching and group sessions help young people aged 11-24 build resilience, confidence and life skills. We can also support those struggling to attend school too.

The GRIT Programme supports up to 14 young people for 2 hours per week over 12 weeks per term.

Acting as a form of alternative provision, it offers a tailored approach for those who would thrive outside of a traditional school environment. The programme combines boxing with health and wellbeing coaching enabling a young people to build confidence, resilience and practical life skills to help them navigate challenges and make positive life changes.  The GRIT Programme can take place at our gym in Hitchin, subject to availability or in your organisation’s setting.

GRIT Programme

The GRIT Programme is our flagship 12-week programme for young people aged 13–18, running after school at our gym in Hitchin.

Taking place at the start of each academic term, it offers a mix of non-contact boxing with health and wellbeing coaching in a fun, energetic, and supportive environment.
Up to 14 young people take part in the sessions led by our GRIT coaches, including at least one trained boxer, to build confidence, resilience, and self-awareness through movement and meaningful conversation.

Each session mirrors the rhythm of a boxing match and is split into two parts or ‘bouts’.

  • Bout 1 focuses on movement, using non-contact boxing and boxing-based fitness to help release stress, boost energy, and shift difficult emotions.
  • Bout 2 moves into a less energetic, reflective coaching space to explore important life skills like understanding emotions, setting boundaries and connecting with personal values.

1:1 Coaching

For young people who need a more personalised approach, we also offer 1:1 coaching sessions.

Sessions take place in a safe, supportive space and are guided using our Four Corners Method to help young people work towards their own goals – whether that’s building confidence, managing stress, improving focus, or navigating life’s challenges.

While non-contact boxing may be included in these sessions, it’s not essential. Young people who may not see themselves as boxers or have any interest in boxing are still very welcome to access our 1:1 coaching. What matters most is having an open mind as physical movement can help unlock emotions and offer new ways of understanding yourself.

Sessions are always tailored to the individual and can take place in person or online.
