Hi, I’m Jo, I am so excited to be starting my new job with the NHS as a Mental Health and Wellbeing coach. I have been asked to write this post to introduce myself - this is out of my comfort zone, so please bear with me! So, what can I tell you?
None of us, no matter what our profession or status are immune to mental health problems. However, I for one, will not be showing a picture of any medication I may or may not take as I do not want to ‘normalise’ medication for mental health.
I feel a bit like an Ancient Egyptian right now. Ancient because I have returned back to my work as a GP following maternity leave, recent Covid, and a baby that still isn’t sleeping through the night. Egyptian because it feels like my life is governed by triangles.
I’m sticking with the boxing theme as we were treated to a second great fight in a matter of weeks between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder. For someone who is very capable of getting back up no matter how many times he is knocked down it wasn’t really a surprise to me that Fury rallied form being dropped twice to win by a sensational knock out in the eleventh round.
We are now halfway through a new term and Autumn is definitely upon us. The last 18 months have been anything but predictable so we are delighted that it finally feels like we are returning to something resembling normality.
